Alicante Airport to Altea taxi, 67 km, fixed at €105
Sixty seven kilometres, about 55 minutes, to the white town with the blue domed church. A private transfer to any address in Altea, including the Hills.
67 km, 55 minutes, one fixed price
Altea is the quiet one on this stretch of coast. It sits just past Benidorm, close enough to use it and far enough not to hear it, and the old town climbs a hill that ends at a church with two blue tiled domes.
The run is 67 km and about 55 minutes, fixed at €105 for the vehicle. That is the whole car with luggage, up to four passengers, agreed before you travel.
Two things about arriving here that a meter punishes you for: Altea Hills is a long climb above the town, and the old town is a knot of narrow streets where a driver who knows it saves you ten minutes and a steep walk.

Alicante Airport to Altea: taxi or transfer?
Altea is past Benidorm, so most public transport options mean getting to Benidorm first and continuing from there.
| Way of getting there | Price | On the day | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Costanova private transfer | Fixed at €105 | Waiting at arrivals | 55 min, door to door |
| Taxi | Whatever the meter says | Wait your turn outside | About an hour |
| Public transport | Low fare | Fixed times, plus a change | Considerably longer |
| Car hire | Rate plus fuel and cover | Paperwork on arrival | An hour, then the old town streets |
Three steps to Altea
Book before you fly
Choose Altea and tell us whether you are in the town or up in the Hills.
Met inside the terminal
Your driver waits at arrivals with your name once you have your cases.
Up past Benidorm
Fifty five minutes north, ending as close to your door as the streets allow.
The town on the hill
The old town is uphill and narrow
The climb to the church is cobbled and steep. Tell us the address and the driver gets you as close as a car can, rather than leaving you at the bottom.
Altea Hills is another climb again
The villas above the town are a serious ascent with luggage. Same €105 whether you are staying there or on the seafront.
A town people come back to
Altea has kept the white houses and the artists, and has no high rises. It is the calm neighbour to Benidorm, twenty minutes up the road.
Through Benidorm and out the other side
The road passes Benidorm about ten minutes before Altea, which is the moment the view changes: the towers stop and the coastline goes back to being rock and low white houses. The turn into Altea is easy to miss in the dark, and the climb into the old quarter is not a road you want to meet for the first time with a hire car.
Altea draws a quieter traveller than its neighbour, and a good share of our passengers here are people who tried Benidorm once and moved twenty minutes up the road.

About twenty minutes north. Plenty of people stay in Altea and go into Benidorm for the day.
